Tribe Network launches Startup Huddle in Atlantic Canada
From the Springboard Content Lab
Tribe Network, a Halifax-based community of racialized entrepreneurs, is joining the Global Entrepreneurship Network to launch Startup Huddle Halifax, the first of its kind in Nova Scotia.
Startup Huddle spotlights tech founders who share their ventures, challenges and insights with peers, mentors and community members who offer feedback and encouragement.
The first session is October 30,( 6:00 and 8:30 PM at Tribe Network at 1717 Barrington Street, Halifax) at the Tribe Network headquarters. Sessions will take place on a monthly basis.
“For the first year of Startup Huddle Halifax, our dream is for the program to become more than just a monthly event; we want it to be a catalyst for a more inclusive and resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem. We will measure our success not just by attendance, but by the tangible progress of the founders who present—from refining their business models and securing their first customers to strengthening their networks and attracting new opportunities.
– Katerina Msafari, Tribe Founder Success Manager
Monthly events
At each event, Atlantic Canadian founders who identify as Black, Indigenous or People of Colour will have six minutes to present their biggest challenge. This will be followed by 20 minutes of audience feedback.
“By putting a spotlight on racialized or underrepresented founders and their biggest challenge, we’re not just showcasing a business—we’re demonstrating that vulnerability is a strength. This builds trust and bridges the gap between founders and the resources they need,” says Msafari.
The Startup Huddle is part of the Global Entrepreneurship Network operates in 200 countries with a mission to make it easier for anyone, anywhere, to start and scale a business.
