Congratulations to Springboard Atlantic IP Advantage clients on their Halifax Chamber of Commerce nominations for Innovative Business of the Year. The winners will be announced at the Chamber Gala, January 22, 2026.

Springboard nominees:

  • 3DBioFibR Inc. – a leading manufacturer of advanced biopolymer fibers. Collagen fibers use a patented dry-spinning technology that replicates properties of natural collagen structures. With a fully automated manufacturing system, 3DBioFibR is the first to produce collagen fibers at commercial scales for a variety of tissue engineering applications, including additives for 3D bioprinting and cellular scaffolds for 2D and 3D cell and tissue culture.
  • Aruna Revolution – Aruna Revolution is developing a proprietary line of compostable absorbent fibers from agricultural by-products to replace plastic and tree pulp used in disposable hygiene products. The company’s innovation is focused on creating high-performance, environmentally friendly materials that meet the demands of the $211 billion global hygiene market. Unlike other sustainable alternatives, Aruna’s compostable fibers are engineered not only for biodegradability but also for superior absorbency, comfort, and scalability—features that unlock broad licensing potential across menstrual, incontinence, and medical textile applications.
  • Oberland Agriscience Inc. – Oberland Agriscience Inc., Atlantic Canada’s largest commercial-scale black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) farm, has leveraged the Atlantic IP Advantage program to advance its innovation-driven business model. The company operates at the intersection of biology, robotics, AI, and predictive analytics to deliver sustainable, high-performance solutions in animal nutrition and soil health.

“The IP journey has been incredibly empowering. It has forced us to think not just as product developers, but as long-term value creators. The support from Atlantic IP Advantage helped us realize that IP is not just a legal tool – it’s a strategic asset that amplifies our licensing potential, investor confidence, and global competitiveness.”

-Rashmi Prakash, CEO, Aruna Revolution
