Janine is the Business Development Lead at SEATAC, NSCC’s NSERC-funded Technology Access Centre, supporting ocean technology innovation. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Science from Acadia University. With over 20 years of experience, Janine has built cross-sector partnerships and secured commercialization funding for Atlantic Canadian SMEs. Her background spans law, strategy, major deals, marketing, sales, and industry engagement across sectors including ocean technology, telecommunications, advisory services, public administration, and banking. At SEATAC, she has helped raise over $3M to support local ocean technology R&D. Known for her collaborative approach, Janine plays a key role in connecting academia and industry, advancing rapid prototyping, testing, and workforce development across the blue economy. She previously held senior business-facing roles at BDC, Bell Aliant, and the Government of Nova Scotia.
