New Director At UNB Urban And Community Studies Institute
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Yves Bourgeois as the new Director of the Urban and Community Studies Institute at UNB.
Dr. Bourgeois holds a PhD in urban planning (regional and international development) from the University of California, Los Angeles; an MSc in science and technology studies from the University of Edinburgh; an MA in philosophy, politics and economics from the University of Oxford, and a BA in politics and economics from l’Université de Moncton.
His research has focused on innovation, urbanization, and economic development with a particular interest in talent mobility and knowledge flows in small cities.
Outside academia, he has worked with technology industry leaders such as Microsoft, and in policy-related research.
Dr. Bourgeois’ previous experience as Director of the Centre for innovation and productivity, associate researcher at the Canadian institute for research on linguistic minorities and lecturer in the department of economics at Université de Moncton has provided him with the necessary expertise to advance the goals and objectives of the Urban and Community Studies Institute.
