Sandra LeClair
Business Development Officer, Office of Commercialization, Industry, & Innovation (OCII), UPEI
Sandra (Sandie) LeClair is a Business Development Officer at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) within the Office of Commercialization, Industry, and Innovation (OCII). Her primary responsibility in this role is to facilitate connections between UPEI and Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) faculty members and community partners, as well as help turn innovative ideas into commercially viable products.
Sandie received her BSc from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) and her MSc from UPEI (AVC).
Before joining OCII, Sandie had a diverse career, always looking for something new and exciting. She worked as a research scientist in various academic labs before moving into a senior scientist role in the pharmaceutical industry. She also spent several years managing a Quality Control laboratory in a vaccine manufacturing site. Additionally, she served as the first Quality Assurance Director for a large cannabis producer from 2018 – 2022, overseeing the development of a cannabis quality management system from the ground up. Furthermore, she manages her own Quality consulting business, providing expertise and guidance on quality management and assurance to organizations.
