Join us for an inspiring conversation as we explore how Dalhousie alumni and Creative Destruction Lab-Atlantic ventures revolutionize healthcare through science, technology, and entrepreneurship. Meet our panel of visionary entrepreneurs:

Hamed Hanafi (MSc’09, PhD’15), Founder & CEO of NovaResp Technologies Inc., transforming sleep apnea treatment with AI-driven solutions.

Rashmi Prakash, CEO & Founder of Aruna Revolution, leading the charge in sustainable high performance disposable hygiene products that are better for our body and the planet.

Hamed Hanafi (MSc’09, PhD’15), Founder & CEO, NovaResp Technologies Inc.

Hamed Hanafi is the founder and CEO of NovaResp, the company that has developed a patented software compatible with any positive airway pressure (PAP) machine to dramatically improve comfort and adherence to therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients. The company’s platform software uses artificial intelligence and machine learning during PAP therapy to predict and prevent episodes of apnea before they would occur. As a result, personalized therapy can be delivered via PAP machines at lower, more comfortable air pressure levels. Hamed Hanafi holds a B.Sc. in electrical engineering, a M.Sc. in microelectronics and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. He is also an adjunct professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as the School of Biomedical Engineering at Dalhousie University, following a research-based entrepreneurial path.

Rashmi Prakash, CEO & Founder, Aruna Revolution

Rashmi Prakash is the CEO of Aruna Revolution, an award-winning fibertech company transforming agricultural waste into compostable materials for health and hygiene. A bold voice in climate tech, she’s redefining how we think about waste, equity, and innovation – building a future where sustainability isn’t a feature, it’s the standard.

The Neville Gilfoy Talk:

The Neville Gilfoy Talk was established in honour of the late Neville Gilfoy, a Dalhousie alumnus who championed entrepreneurs and whose passion for a prosperous Atlantic region fueled his business efforts.

An influential mentor, teacher, publisher, public speaker and connector, Neville advanced the conversation and the culture of entrepreneurship in Atlantic Canada. He founded Progress Media Group and several magazines, including Progress, Progrès, Halifax Magazine, and Nova Scotia Open to the World, and co-founded Eastern Woods and Waters. Neville’s strength was building and maintaining personal relationships with everyone he met, and his personal philosophy was reflected best in his flagship events: Face 2 Face, the only conference exclusively aimed at entrepreneurs in the region, and the Top 101 awards, celebrating Atlantic Canada’s top companies.

The Neville J. Gilfoy Bursary in Entrepreneurship & Innovation fund, was established to provide financial support for Dalhousie business students studying entrepreneurship and innovation.

A donation to the Neville Gilfoy Fund would be greatly appreciated to help support young entrepreneurs in Atlantic Canada. Donate Here
