IP for Life Sciences Start-ups

“In the life sciences industry, IP is everything.” Join Springboard, Life Sciences Nova Scotia, Bounce Health Innovation, Emergence, and NS Health Innovation Hub for an in-depth look at IP for life sciences start-ups with IP expert, Dr. Chris Barden, CEO of US/Canadian pharma company Treventis Corp. and a registered U.S. Patent Agent. Dr. Barden will share “lessons learned” navigating the regulatory system in the U.S. and the EU and how he built a robust IP portfolio.
Dr. Barden is a life sciences and medtech entrepreneur with 15+ years’ experience at the intersection of science and business. A computational scientist by training, he is also a US registered patent agent and provides intellectual property management services for universities, hospitals, and small companies. At Treventis he leads a team of scientists working on disease-modifying therapeutics against protein misfolding diseases such as Alzheimer’s (the subject of a $370MM partnership with Takeda).
