Export Café Series
Part 2: Spain — A Growing European Leader in Biotech, Pharma, and Health Innovation
Explore new horizons and unlock global opportunities with our Export Café Series: Unlocking New Growth Opportunities Abroad in 2026. Life Sciences Nova Scotia, in partnership with Global Affairs Canada and the Nova Scotia Health Innovation Hub, presents the second session in this hybrid educational series supporting companies aiming to expand internationally.
Our next session highlights Spain, a rapidly advancing life sciences hub known for its strong pharmaceutical industry, expanding biotech sector, and robust R&D environment. Spain’s ecosystem offers opportunities across biopharmaceutical innovation, clinical research infrastructure, digital health, and partnerships supported by national and EU level programs. Participants will receive a practical overview of the business landscape, key opportunity areas, cultural considerations, and effective market entry paths.
The session will also spotlight key industry events that can support your international expansion efforts by helping you identify new partners, connect with potential buyers, and build visibility in the European market. These include Galicia Biodays—the benchmark biotechnology and life sciences forum in the European Atlantic area—and BIOSPAIN, the leading biannual biotechnology event in Southern Europe and one of the largest globally, known for generating more than 4,500 one to one partnering meetings.
Led by Global Affairs Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service, the session will be followed by a panel of Canadian ecosystem partners who will outline available funding, programs, and supports to help Nova Scotia companies pursue business development or R&D collaborations in Europe.
Join us to learn how to position your business for global success in 2026 and beyond.
