AI after hours: builders, thinkers, doers- Feb 11

This is where AI Collective Halifax began. No stage, just curious people exploring where AI is going and how it’s shaping their work and lives.

​When you arrive, we’ll ask you three questions:

• ​What are you building with AI?

• ​What are you thinking about with AI?

• ​What are you doing with AI?

​AI After Hours is a relaxed evening for people who are

• ​Builders – engineers, developers, researchers creating with AI

• ​Thinkers – ethicists, policymakers, journalists, community leaders questioning its impact

• ​Doers – operators, strategists, project managers, creatives, educators implementing AI in their work

• ​The curious – students, carrer pivoters, anyone trying to understand where it all fits

​Why come back (or join for the first time)?

​We hosted our first meetup end of last year and the energy was electric. Now we’re doing it again—whether you’re returning with a friend, missed the first one, or just discovered us.

​Throughout the evening, you’ll get a feel for:

• ​Who makes up Halifax’s AI community right now

• ​What AI Collective is doing locally and globally

• ​Where we’re headed in 2026 and why Halifax matters

• ​How builders, operators, creatives, students, and leaders all play a role

​Get involved beyond attending

​This is also a soft on-ramp for people who want to do more. AI Collective Halifax is actively building its local team. If you’re curious about any of these roles, this is the place to start those conversations naturally:

• ​Host or lead sessions – facilitate workshops, discussions, or skill-shares

• ​Volunteer – help with events, community outreach, or operations

• ​Partner with us – support our people, work, and programming through collaboration or sponsorship

• ​Build with us – contribute to projects, tools, or initiatives we’re creating together

​What to expect

​Good music, food and drinks, thoughtful conversations, and space to actually connect. We’ll have light prompts and loose conversation zones, but the night is intentionally unscripted.

​Come for the atmosphere. Stay for the conversations. Leave with new connections, clearer signals, and a better sense of where you fit—and who you can build with.

​Bring a friend—whether they’re building with AI daily or just curious about where it’s all heading.
