ESANS Director, Adam Cooney, Relocating To Calgary

ESANS Board of Directors announces the resignation of Adam Cooney, and the appointment of Cameron Ells, a past President of ESANS, to serve as Interim Executive Director starting April 19, 2012. From Calgary, Adam will support Cameron to ensure a smooth transition of this role during this interim period. Subsequent to the June 6, 2012 Annual General Meeting, ESANS will formally seek and recruit its next permanent Executive Director.   Says Adam, “The progression of my involvement with ESANS starting in 2007 from volunteer Director, through senior executive positions and concluding with nearly two years as Executive Director with this diverse organization has provided me with a very rewarding set of experiences and relationships. ESANS carries forward with renewed vigour and strength: membership has doubled and related revenue has tripled during this time. I extend deep gratitude and appreciation to all directors, members, and representatives of the many industry, government, and academic organizations in the ESANS network who have contributed through the years to achieve ESANS’s vision of serving as the premier resource for the environmental service sector. I would be very pleased to hear from you at my new personal email address: adamcooney@telus.net”. On behalf of the ESANS Board of Directors and membership, President John Wanczycki recognizes Adam’s contributions over the years that have helped to shape an association that is now stronger and more widely connected. Mr. Wanczycki writes: “In all of his roles with ESANS, Adam has brought an ability to understand and address the varied needs of our membership, a knack for building partnerships of all kinds, a generous nature, and a positive outlook that permeates everything he does. His accomplishments also go beyond the confines of ESANS. He was instrumental in launching the now-annual Nova Scotia Industry Network December networking event that brings together hundreds of representatives from business, government and other sectors in Nova Scotia. For these and other reasons, Adam will be missed not only by ESANS, but by a large section of our community here in Nova Scotia. As Adam prepares to embark upon the next chapter in his career, we have enlisted the services of an experienced and dedicated friend of ESANS, Cameron Ells, to serve as Interim Executive Director. Adam and Cameron are long-time colleagues, which will provide a smooth transition”.
