Canada’s Smartest Kitchen Cooking With Investment

Canada’s Smartest Kitchen increasing capacity to help Atlantic Canadian companies develop innovative food products Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea and Holland College President Dr. Brian McMillan were in Charlottetown today to announce a combined investment of $346,000 to Canada’s Smartest Kitchen located at Holland College. This funding will allow Canada’s Smartest Kitchen to build capacity to help small and medium-sized businesses receive the expertise and knowledge they need to develop their food products and achieve success in the consumer market. Quick Facts •The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Business Development Program, is investing $259,500 to help build the capacity to offer services to businesses in food product development. Holland College has invested an additional $86,500 into this project. •This project fulfills a demand in the food industry to offer an expanded product development service to small and medium-sized businesses so they can gain the necessary expertise to bring their best possible product to the marketplace and into the hands of the consumer. •Canada’s Smartest Kitchen has hired respected industry advisors to refine internal food product development. These advisors will also participate in training and mentoring programs that will benefit businesses as well as the team at Canada’s Smartest Kitchen.
