Build In Canada Innovation Program Call For Proposals

Companies interested in moving their innovative products and services one step closer to commercialization are invited to apply to the federal government’s fifth call for proposals under the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP). Canadian entrepreneurs often report that funding is hardest to obtain once their product is ready to move from the lab to the marketplace. In order to help fund this “commercialization gap,” BCIP awards contracts through a competitive procurement process to assist businesses in the commercialization of their innovative products within the government. The program also aims to reduce the risks associated with the commercialization of untested products by providing testing and feedback on the selected goods and services. The fifth call for proposals for BCIP will close on Sept. 16, 2014. Priority areas include enabling technologies, health, environment, safety and security, and a military component.
