Creating transformational defence innovation as we face persistent conflict and rupture of the world order.

Radar mattered because it created time in a tactical, operational and strategic context — starting with early warning that translated into better decisions—and it worked because Britain fused science, industry, and operations into an integrated capability fast enough to matter; our Canadian “Radar moment” today is building the same kind of sovereign, rapidly fielded decision-advantage stack for an era of persistent contest – but how do we achieve that as a pursuit of the highest national importance?

Our speaker is Duncan McSporran, who is the Founder and Managing Director of Vimy Forge, a sovereign Canadian accelerator advancing defence and national security innovation. A former British Army Infantry officer he has technical background in cartography and remote sensing and combines operational rigour with a strong business track record as a founder, programme builder, and advisor in the defence and dual-use ecosystem.
