  • Dalhousie, U.S. Company Collaborate on Hearing Technology

    Springboard Atlantic would like to congratulate Dalhousie University on the recent announcement of its worldwide licensing agreement with Ototronix, LLC of Houston, TX for a new technology that treats conductive hearing loss and miniaturizes the power source for a hearing device.

    This project originally received funding from an institution-led AIF project, as well as Springboard support. In 2009, Dr. Brown was awarded Proof of Concept funding to improve the imaging and diagnostic capabilities, as well as the intervention and monitoring of ear disorders.

  • Omniactive Health Technologies Officially Opens Doors

    CHARLOTTETOWN (PE) - June 27, 2012 - The opening of OmniActive Health Technologies’ new research and development facilities in Charlottetown marks the foundation of further growth in Prince Edward Island’s bioscience industry, the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of National Revenue, on behalf of the Honourable Bernard Valcourt, Minister of State for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and La Francophonie, and the Honourable Allen Roach, P.E.I. Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning, said at the facility’s grand opening today.

    SHEDIAC - A pilot project to convert seafood waste into energy at Memorial University in St. John's, N.L., is attracting attention from a number of fish processing companies in the Atlantic region, according to the director of the program.
